It’s been a while since I’ve had anything to say, but 2009 was a difficult year for everyone - me included. The unknown resides opposite the strict plant. Wouldn’t you agree?

Nevada Resident Wings Big!

This was the second highest jackpot ever one in the state of Nevada, and Casino spokespersons joined IGT representatives, manufacturers of the electronic slot machines, in saying how pleased they were that the prize went to a local resident.  Many casino locals avoid casinos to avoid the temptation to gamble away their paychecks, while others enjoy occasional forays to the slots and tables for a bit of excitement and a chance to get out of the house.  For these casino neighbors, living in close proximity to a casino is a huge bonus.

The Romanick pot is the second largest payoff earned worldwide from slot machine play.  The highest pot ever was won in 2003 at the Excalibur Casino in Las Vegas.

$33 Million Casino Jackpot, won by a Nevada Resident

Ever wonder how it would feel to win a big casino jackpot?  It’s likely that nearly everyone has wondered about it at some point in time – even if only fleetingly.  But for a very lucky few, these dream jackpots do come true.  Rachael Renee Romanick, a 38-year old resident of Reno, Nevada, is one of those.

Ms Romanick had planned a quiet Easter 2009 evening at home when a friend coaxed her out of the house and into Terribles Rails City, a local Sparks, Nevada casino.  She had barely settled in to play when ringing bells and flashing lights announced her windfall … after only 10 minutes of play she hit the jackpot of a lifetime and walked away $33 Million richer.
