Gambling for Seminole - Florida

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

The Florida Retail Federation and Florida Restaurant Lodging weighed in on the project and agreed that this deal will not only benefit the Seminole tribe, but will build a strong foundation for the state’s future.  Offering first-class gambling, entertainment, food and lodging will appeal to a new echelon of vacationer, breathing new life into Florida’s destination entertainment industry.

As with other tribal gaming casinos, the Seminole-owned casino will offer gainful employment to a large contingent of the state’s Native American residents.  Gaming casinos have provided economic stability to this formerly disenfranchised group of Americans, giving hope to improving the health and living conditions of tribal members.

Casino Royale

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Casino Royale is one of Fleming’s most blatant nods to the “high life,” in which the entire plot revolves around gambling skirmishes between 007 and SMERSH operative Le Chiffre.  But for the gambling enthusiast, “Royale” offered a primer on the ins and outs of Baccarat.  In the recent remake of the tongue-in-cheek version (ca. 1967 and starring David Niven as Bond), Daniel Craig as James Bond heightened the focus on the strategies of Baccarat as an extension of the characters.  Here, we learn how they attempt to manipulate their opponent to improve their chances of success.

Other famous Bond films that employed gambling as a centralized theme are Dr. No, Thunderball, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, For Your Eyes Only and Golden Eye. Among these, Thunderball provided the most detail on how to play Baccarat and the complex playing styles and strategies.

In the past decade, however, many of the “old” casino games lost their luster as focus turned to community poker games such as Texas hold ‘em.  But history does repeat itself, and it is interesting to witness the resurgence of this Monte Carlo standard in the new Millenium.

Renovation of Casino Windsor

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Casino Windsor is being renovated to allow the growing number of gambling enthusiasts to enjoy the unique Windsor experience.  One of the elemental changes is its new name.  The property historically known as Casino Windsor will launch under its new moniker: Caesar’s Windsor.

This newly renovated property has added a 400-room hotel tower, a theater with a capacity to entertain up to 5000, and 100,000 square feet of open space for watching films. The renovation stands testament to the modern marvel of the casino experience and includes a new cornerstone restaurant, Nero’s Steakhouse.

Caesars Windsor is a project that wraps up all the must-haves in modern destination entertainment into a single property with entertainment options for the whole family.  Send the kids off for an afternoon or evening of movie-going and mom and dad can hit the tables for a bit of adult-oriented entertainment.

The facility also offers meeting rooms, banqueting and options for nearly any major corporate or family event.  And what better way to cap off a memorable getaway than with a spin at the gaming tables?
